Volunteering to serve on a city Board, Commission or Committee is a great way to get involved! If you would like to apply to serve with one of the groups listed below, please complete this application (PDF) and email it to the City Secretary
Application to Serve on a City of Horseshoe Bay Board, Commission or Committee (PDF)
The City of Horseshoe Bay accepts applications year-round from residents to serve on one of the Boards, Commissions, and Committees described below. Volunteers must be registered voters in the City of Horseshoe Bay and have resided in the city for at least 12 months prior to appointment, have an active application on file with the City Secretary, not be in arrears due to the City, and not holding another public office. Descriptions for each of the groups are listed below. Click on the name of the group to learn more. The deadline for submitting applications is the first Monday in November each year. Appointments are made in December and are effective January 1st. Please email completed applications to the City Secretary by the deadline to be considered or if you have any questions.

Planning and Zoning Commission
The Planning and Zoning Commission is responsible for making recommendations to the City Council on items such as zoning ordinances, comprehensive plan amendments, and more.

Board of Adjustment
The Board of Adujstment is responsible for granting variances to the terms of the zoning regulations of the City, and deciding appeals from decisions of administrative officials related to those zoning regulations.

Broadband Advisory Committee
The purpose of this committee is to explore and recommend options for increasing the availability of high-speed internet in Horseshoe Bay.

Fuchs' House Advisory Committee
This committee serves as the entity responsible for the restoration and future use of the Fuchs' House once ownership is transferred to the City.

Long Range Planning Advisory Committee
This Committee advises the City Council on issues it considers appropriate regarding Long Range Planning

Parks Advisory Committee
This committee recommends policies and procedures for proper administration of the parks program of the City subject to approval by the City Council.

Capital Improvements Advisory Committee
Established with Ordinance 13-10-15F on October 15, 2013, the City Council appointed a Capital Improvements Advisory Committee on Impact Fees to advise the City Council concerning the finalization of the land use assumptions, impact fee capital improvements plan and the amount of impact fees for water and wastewater facilities. The Committee is composed of the members of the Planning and Zoning Commission and a representative from the extra-territorial jurisdiction of the City.
