The City of Horseshoe Bay currently has the following job openings:
Utilities Director
The City of Horseshoe Bay is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Utilities Director. Candidates should have a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Environmental, Construction Sciences, Engineering Technology or other related environmental, science, or engineering field; or equivalent in a related field with related technical experience. A Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas is preferred or ability to obtain license within two (2) years. A candidate should have eight (8) or more years experience in water and wastewater treatment, operations and maintenance. TCEQ Class B Surface Water Certification and Class B Wastewater Certification preferred. An applicant should be knowledgeable in GIS and have at least 2 years of Contracting and Procurement experience, in addition, experience with capital programs and streets is essential. The starting salary range is $68,000 to $83,000 (DOQ) plus car allowance. The City also provides an excellent benefits package including health, dental, and life insurance and retirement options.
The Utilities Department operates a new 4 MGD water treatment plant, a 1 MGD water treatment plant and a .8 MGD wastewater treatment plant. The department provides billing and collection services, utility metering, and has the responsibility of the operation and maintenance of the water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
The City serves a 5600 person world class resort community on the shores of Lake LBJ just 50 minutes west of Austin and 90 minutes north of San Antonio. The City provides police, fire, utilities, and administrative services. Currently, the City is staffed with 67 employees and is governed by a Mayor and five Council members.
