To support long-term departmental initiatives not funded by the City general operating budget, including but not limited to:
1) College Tuition assistance for departmental employees, children or grandchildren of employees. Program to be administered by the Police Department.
2) Trade school tuition for departmental employees, children, grandchildren of employees, and potential new hires.
3) Departmental initiatives that benefit the health and safety of the community.
4) Assistance for departmental employees who have suffered a catastrophic personal injury such as: Traumatic brain injury, Spinal cord injury, Severe bum injury, Limb loss, Ruptured kidneys, spleen, liver or bowels.
5) Other extraordinary emergencies as may be determined by the Police Department
