The Horseshoe Bay City Council approved the adoption of new building codes at the March 18, 2025 regular council meeting. The new model building code will be the 2021 International Building Codes and the 2023 National Electric Code (NFPA70), effective June 16, 2025. All building permits submitted for review on or after June 16, 2025 will be reviewed using the new codes. The Development Services Department and Building Inspection Team will work with builders and tradesmen to ensure a successful transition to the new codes.

Effective April 1, 2025, the City of Horseshoe Bay Development Services Department lobby hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Staff will be available from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. by appointment only.
