The Texas Legislature convened for its 89th regular legislative session on January 14, 2025, and continued through June 2. As of March 14, the bill filing deadline, 8,631 House and Senate bills had been filed. Throughout the session, this page was updated with information pertaining to the City of Horseshoe Bay and the Highland Lakes area.

Testifying In Person
If you choose to testify in person at a House Committee hearing, please be sure to create your online witness registration profile in advance. (If the bill is assigned to a Senate committee, you will not able to digitally register for your hearing. In those cases, you may have to manually register by filling out a physical card in the committee room to which your hearing has been assigned).
Reach Out to Your Senator and Representatives!
Throughout a legislative session, we will ask citizens participating in the Speak Up program to contact their Senator and Representative about issues that impact the City of Horseshoe Bay or about voting on bills. As the City of Horseshoe Bay is in both Burnet and Llano counties, it is important that you contact the appropriate elected official.
