The Highland Lakes Chapter
of the Native Plant Society of Texas and the City of Horseshoe Bay are hosting
a celebration of Native Plant Week at City Hall from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on
Saturday, Oct. 13.
The event will feature
speaker Deedy Wright, who will talk about using native plants in landscaping.
The event is free and open
to the public. Wright will speak at 10:30 a.m. in the City Council
Chambers. The Native Plant Society will be selling plants in the City park to
benefit their chapter.
Native plants are a great
idea for landscaping in Horseshoe Bay and part of our water utility’s long-term
conservation strategy. They naturally need less water, so they help us conserve
water and save money on utility bills. Native plants will also hold up better when
drought strikes.
City Hall is at #1
Community Drive.
We hope to see you there!
