[ARCHIVED] Mayor Clinesmith signs three Proclamations!

2020 May 3-9 Municipal Clerks Week 05.01.2020

Mayor Cynthia Clinesmith signed three proclamations today celebrating public servants. The first proclamation declares the week of May 3rd - 9th as "Municipal Clerks Week" in Horseshoe Bay. 2020 is the 51st anniversary of Municipal Clerks Week which was initiated in 1969 on a worldwide level. In 1984, President Ronald Reagan was the first U.S. President to proclaim the first week in May as "Municipal Clerks Week". The Mayor is calling upon all citizens of Horseshoe Bay to recognize this week by thanking our City Secretary, Kerri Craig, for the outstanding service and exemplary dedication she has shown to the Horseshoe Bay community. The second proclamation declares the month of April 2020 as "Records and Information Management Month" in Horseshoe Bay. Proper management of records and information is crucial to the functioning of a healthy democracy, enabling citizens to monitor their government institutions and actively participate in the governing process. City Secretary Craig is the Records Management Officer for the City of Horseshoe Bay and is responsible for overseeing the protection and preservation of the City’s records. The third proclamation declares the week of May 3rd - 9th as "Public Service Recognition Week" in Horseshoe Bay as well, in concert with the National recognition of the week by the White House on May 1st. Horseshoe Bay recognizes and appreciates its local public servants in the following departments and positions: Animal Control, City Manager, City Secretary, Code Enforcement, Development Services, Finance, Fire, GIS, Human Resources, Information Technology, Municipal Court, Police, Public Works, and Utilities. The employees of the City are immensely grateful to work in such a wonderful community!
