The National Weather Service forecasts colder weather later this month for our area. Precautions should be taken to protect “pets, plants people and pipes”. Links below can help you prepare for the pending weather in advance of arrival Thursday afternoon with low temperatures in the teens Friday morning and staying below freezing until possibly Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

City is Prepared – As we enter this winter period, the City’s crews are prepared for possible icing of our streets and will be applying de-icing salt when appropriate. All emergency services and utilities are prepared and ready to support the community if and when needed. Additional emergency generators have been installed on water infrastructure to increase dependability in case of loss of power. Additional information will be provided by the City as any significant weather event develops.
Temperatures will possibly be as low as mid 10's or lower during nighttime hours. Wrap or drip outside faucets and pipes. Bring pets and plants into heated areas to protect them from the freeze. Turn off irrigation systems. Know where your water shut-off is located in case of freezing pipes that may break in exposed areas. Please check in on your neighbors who may need assistance preparing for a hard freeze event.
