PROCLAMATION
Public Service Recognition Week
May 7-13, 2017
WHEREAS, The citizens of Horseshoe Bay are served every single day by public servants at the federal, state, county and city levels. These unsung heroes do the work that keeps our nation working; and
WHEREAS, The City of Horseshoe Bay recognizes its local public servants including employees in Administration (City Manager, City Secretary, Human Resources, IT, GIS), Animal Control, Community Services (Field Operations, Plant Operations, Reclamation/Recycling), Development Services, Finance, Fire, Municipal Court, Police, and Public Works. Day in and day out, they provide the diverse services demanded by the citizens of Horseshoe Bay with efficiency and integrity; and
WHEREAS, Many public servants, including police officers and firefighters risk their lives in service to the people of the City of Horseshoe Bay; and
WHEREAS, Without these public servants, continuity would be impossible in a democracy that regularly changes its leaders and elected officials; and
WHEREAS, All citizens of the City of Horseshoe Bay are encouraged to recognize the accomplishments and contributions of City employees.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Stephen T. Jordan, Mayor of the City of Horseshoe Bay, by virtue of the authority vested in me, do hereby proclaim May 7-13, 2017 as:
PUBLIC SERVICE RECOGNITION WEEK
